Ms. Laurissa Boman

I love a good story because I have heard the best story, which involves you and me and all who believe. John 1 says, "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God...In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not understood it." From there John writes the gospel story of our savior Jesus.

As students study American Literature, write their own stories in Creative Writing, or prepare to communicate in the workplace through College Comp and Tech writing, it is my great hope that they discover how all stories - even their own - bend toward God, perfect Author that He is. We are made to love Him.

My name is Laurissa Boman, and I'm excited to be at Western Christian and to follow God as he writes yet another meaningful story. I grew up in Montana where I developed three great passions - being in nature, reading on a porch swing, and learning about God. After graduating from Dordt College in 2010, I moved to Indiana and taught English 9-12, Film, Composition, and Novels. I advised for Yearbook, coached volleyball, and spearheaded many clubs (including Explorers' Club and Grannies in Training, for those who knit and crochet).

A year of prayer brought me to Western, where I'm excited to continue teaching stories, be nearer to family, and build community with those who want to glorify God.
